The best design for your Hotel Laundry Room

Having a laundry set up in your hotel facility could boost your guest experience by 30%. Clean wears, and clothing’s can create the ambience and customer service to stay at the top of your customer’s mind. It’s a dopamine activator, an assurance to top notch customer experience.

At Henson Laundry we understand that the biggest challenge when it comes to setting up a hotel laundry is getting the right laundry solutions to manage the tonnes of linens, customer wears, and hotel clothing that require cleaning each day. For instance, a 120 room hotel facility approximately can process 200,000 Kgs per a year. In order to sufficiently manage this, hoteliers need to get their laundry section right with the solutions that optimize operations and deliver on quality.

Below are some of the considerations you need to look at when setting up your laundry section.

Laundry Room Sizing, and Equipment

  • A 120 room hotel would require 2 – 3 washers with 2 – 3 dryers. This number may vary depending on the number of linens per guestroom and the size of the laundry washer or dryer.
  • Any standard hotel hard mount washer ranges from 29Kgs – 38Kgs and can manage 1 – 2 heaps of linens per hour
  • Laundry Commercial washers, and dryers sizes rely on dry – weight. For instance, a 20 Kg comes with a maximum dry weight volume of 20kgs.
  • To have an efficient laundry system and not end up with wet linens waiting for the dry cycle, dryers should be one size larger than the washer extractor. For instance a 29kg washer extractor will function well with a 34 Kg dryer.

Room Size

At Henson laundry we take through the steps in helping you get the right room size for your laundry room. For a 120 room hotel for example you may require a 500 – 700 sq. ft space, and this may increase by 50% if the washed lines will be ironed.

Typically, hotel laundry will require about 24 inches of rear clearance space to give sufficient room for servicing, and the washers should have a minimum of 6 inches -12 inches between them.

Getting the right Equipment.

At Henson Laundry we highly recommend Tolon laundry equipment due to their excellence in offering innovative laundry solutions close to a century. The solutions we offer speaks for themselves, the turnaround time and delivery is top notch.

Laundry Washers

  • Low-Mid G-force Hardmount – This is considered to be less efficient when you are looking for a long term investment. It comes with small initial costs with high cost of operations.
  • Low-Mid G-force Softmount Washer Extractors– This does not need build floor slabs; this is because about 90% of the vibration is absorbed by springs, and shock absorbers that are inbuilt. The Softmount equipment will cost about 25% more than the hardmount version.
  • Hard G-force Hardmount Washer Extractors – This is the best option for a hotel set up; their speed is great with a low cost of operation that can allow optimize your operations as you deliver the experience that your facility deserves to stand out.  At Henson Laundry, this is what we recommend to our hotel customers.

Laundry Dryers

  • The best commercial laundry dryers are those that come with an auto-dry programmable system.
  • For an efficient dryer, you may need one with anti-wrinkling functionality that allows for automatic turning of the cylinder back when the load has been left drying for too long.
  • Getting a self-cleaning lint filters will increase your efficiency
  • At Henson we offer laundry equipment that  automatically responds to high temperatures. At any detection, our machines will automatically spray water on the lines in the system.
